Abstract

In January 2017, Inflation of South Sulawesi was 1.12 percent and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 127.12. CPI of 5 cities in South Sulawesi, underwent inflation. The highest inflation was in Watampone at 1.52 percent with CPI of 122.10 and the lowest in Palopo amounted to 0.82 percent with CPI of 124.79.

Inflation in South Sulawesi in January 2017 was due to the rise in prices of all expenditure groups indicated by the rise in the price index of foodstuffs at 1.56 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.24 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.67 percent; clothing group of 0.40 percent; health group 0.15 percent; education, recreation and sport 12:02 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services 2.84 percent.
